A note type is a set of fields plus the card templates that turn one note into one or more cards. Types are stored as RDF in your pod, so other Solid apps can read them.
The first field is the sort field. Renaming a field does not rename stored note content.
{{Front}} inserts a field. {{#Example}}…{{/Example}} shows a section when filled, {{^Example}}…{{/Example}} when empty. {{FrontSide}} repeats the front on the back. {{cloze:Text}} and {{type:Back}} add cloze and typed answers.
Bring decks in from Anki or a spreadsheet; take everything with you as an open file. Your cards are already yours: they live in your pod.
Nothing is written until you confirm the preview. Turtle and ZIP backups replace the whole collection.
Local drafts are automatic. Turn on sync to keep a copy on your pod and on your other devices.
Your cards are always saved in this browser first. With sync on, changes from this device and your other devices are merged: different cards and notes combine, reviews add up, and a card follows its newest review. If the same note was changed in two places you choose which version to keep. Attachments live in a sibling media folder and inherit its access rules. Choose a private parent folder for private cards.
